I have always had a great love of learning and discovery. I am always trying to share the larger world context with my students and to inspire the motivation to learn something new and interesting. I am originally from the Syracuse area of central New York and still have family there. I have lived in Fresno CA., Boston, MA., and Oxford, OH before settling in Dayton for the last 30 years. My degree is in elementary education and my Master's in Reading and Diagnostic Education. I have been married for almost 38 years to my husband, Scott, and have two children who are both grown and married. I have one granddaughter who is turning three years old this fall. We have always been an active family--tennis, skiing, hiking, boating, soccer, travel, love of the outdoors, dancing, etc. I love to read and have been a member of the same book club for over twenty years. I love music and play the piano when I get the chance. There is never enough time in the day or week to do everything I want. Nature and the environment are two of my great loves and concerns along with childrens' education/health. My cat Tinkerbell is the best cat in the world and greets me everyday after school!
