Meet Mrs. Fernandez
¡Hola!
This is a year filled of firsts for me. It is my first year teaching at
Precious Blood and it is also my first time living in Ohio. I was born
and raised in Miami, FL. My parents were both born in Cuba and came to
the United States as young children. I was taught to speak Spanish
before English and though I was born in the U.S. my native language is
Spanish.
I attended the University of Miami in Miami, FL and received a
Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and after graduating I taught
fourth grade for a year. While I was earning my degree I worked as a
tutor for a variety of ages and students. I loved working with a diverse
group of learners.
I recently married my high school sweetheart. We moved to Dayton so my
husband could pursue an education in law at the University of Dayton. I
have never experienced a snow fall and I’m excited for a true winter.
I love to travel to a variety of places. I have had the privilege to
visit Germany, England, France, Italy, and Austria. I have also been to
a variety of states and many parts of the Caribbean. I hope to visit
many more countries in my lifetime. I am very interested in the culinary
arts, especially baking.
I am excited to get to know each and everyone in the Precious Blood
family!
