Not all work at home need be written work for your kindergartener to do. Here are some other ideas:
·       Read to your child. Visit your local library and let him pick out books to have
        you read.
·       Practice patterning. Students can say patterns, draw patterns, or even act out
        patterns.

Does your child know:
·       His birthday?
·       His address?
·       Her phone number?
·       The days of the week?
·       Can she tell if two words that you say rhyme?
·       Can she give you words that rhyme with cat, bed, chair…

We are beginning to recognize a few words.
·       In that book you are reading to her, can she find the words ”yes” “no” ,“the” “red”, “green”,
        ”blue” ,or    “yellow?”

Your child has two books in his folder today. These books are repetitious to give confidence.  I know the children memorize them quickly. If you save these books and pull them out at various times you will find students have to look at the words and picture clues to read them.
