Children learn by doing! That is why the Precious Blood
Preschool believes in educating children through play and hands-on
experiences. Play is essential to children being able to
navigate their world. Children want to learn when it is
presented to them in a fun, exciting way.
- Socializing and interacting with other children the same age
through role play, dramatic play, and puppetry.
- Practicing self-help skills such as hand washing, taking off
and putting on shoes, buttoning, cleaning up after one's self,
etc.
- Creating art with little help from an adult using crayons,
markers, glue, scissors, paints, etc.
- Practicing fine motor skills such as sorting, sewing,
cutting, tearing, tracing, counting, matching, etc.
- Learning how to handle one’s self in different situations.
- Learning how to deal with emotions and then how to
communicate those feelings with other children and adults.
- Separating from parents with undue stress.
- Being exposed to letters, numbers, shapes, and colors.
- Retaining information by repetition while clapping hands,
stomping feet, etc.
- Practicing large motor skills such as hopping, floor mat
activities, use of balls and bean bags.
- Following simple directions
Children need to learn these basic skills in order
to make
moving into the next level of learning a smooth transition.
